ABOUT ME

I grew up outside of Philadelphia. In 2011, I started working in documentary film in Chicago. I had the opportunity to study under the great filmmakers at Kartemquin Films (Hoop Dreams, The Interrupters) and work on films by Steve James, Barbara Kopple, and Ruth Leitman. I worked as a location sound recordist and editor, for the most part. I also worked a bit in narrative film and spent the better part of two years shooting and editing the 2017 indie hit Rogers Park.

Around 2015, I started working as a journalist so that I could hone my skills finding, developing, and finishing stories. My first job was at WBEZ, where I worked in the newsroom on their broadcast program Curious CIty, reporting on everything from science to city government. During that time, I produced a personal audio documentary, “Blink Once for Yes”, that ran on Love + Radio as well as Snap Judgment. That piece won awards internationally and I have been working in radio ever since.

I am currently living in Oakland, California and working as producer of the show Snap Judgment. My wife and I have a little garden and a large Maine coon. I’m a Pisces and I share a birthday with both Kurt Cobain AND Rihanna, the subject of one of my best audio stories.
